ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman to discuss the escalating regional situation following Israel’s strike on Iran and subsequent attacks affecting certain Gulf countries.
According to an official statement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the Israeli attack on Iran describing it as a serious development that has intensified regional tensions. He also denounced the subsequent strikes reported in parts of the Gulf calling them unfortunate and dangerous for regional peace and stability.
The prime minister warned that such actions could further destabilize the region and undermine ongoing efforts to maintain security. He conveyed Pakistan’s full solidarity with the Saudi leadership during this critical time and assured unwavering support for the Kingdom.
Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to safeguarding Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity. He emphasized that Pakistan stands with its Saudi brothers and sisters in every difficult moment.
The prime minister also expressed Pakistan’s readiness to play a constructive and positive role in easing tensions. He prayed for peace, stability, and harmony in the region, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.
