Protests Erupt Across Pakistan Over Reported Assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Protests erupted across Pakistan following the reported assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Demonstrators held rallies in multiple cities, including Karachi Lahore Islamabad and Peshawar as well as in Gilgit-Baltistan.

In Karachi protesters gathered near the United States Consulate General Karachi attempting to enter the premises. Clashes with law enforcement resulted in nine deaths and 36 injuries, according to the Deputy Commissioner South. Authorities blocked roads leading to the consulate and reported incidents of arson targeting police posts.

Similar demonstrations occurred outside the US consulates in Lahore prompting local authorities to manage crowds with heightened security. In Islamabad, roads leading to the Red Zone were closed, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited protesters to express condolences and urged restraint.

The US Embassy issued advisories urging American citizens to remain vigilant, avoid large gatherings, and prioritize safety amid rising tensions. Protests also included anti-Israel slogans, highlighting the regional dimension of public anger.

The unrest reflects widespread public reaction to the reported death of Khamenei with authorities emphasizing containment and prevention of further violence.
