LAHORE: Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s new initiative Maryam Ko Batayen has witnessed overwhelming public response with over 1.1 million people registering in just 10 days.
Official figures reveal that 910,000 individuals signed up through the mobile app 140,000 via helpline 1000, and 50,000 through the web portal, averaging more than 100,000 registrations daily.
Eligible citizens are receiving PKR 10,000 directly into their JazzCash mobile wallets, linked to national ID records. Beneficiaries must present their original CNIC and communicate with a JazzCash representative to claim the funds.
Saima Farooq Chairperson of Helpline 1000 and Chief Minister’s Complaint Cell, reported that 1.8 million calls were recorded in a single hour averaging 30,000 calls per minute or 500 calls per second showing extraordinary public engagement.
The program is fully PSER data and PMT scoring-based, providing equal access to urban and rural areas. Each applicant receives a tracking ID to ensure transparency, accountability, and digital verification.
Individuals can register via the mobile app MARYAM KO BATAYEN the web portal https://mkb.punjab.gov.pk or helpline 1000. Those already receiving government aid like Ramadan Nighban ration card assistance Benazir Income Support, or Prime Minister’s Ramadan Relief Program are not eligible.
This initiative highlights a digitally driven approach to welfare ensuring efficiency transparency and broad-based citizen access.
