Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates has officially announced that it will not allow its airspace to be used for any military attack against Iran. Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem Al Hashimy made the statement during a press briefing, emphasizing the UAE’s commitment to regional stability.
She stated that while the UAE considers Iran’s ballistic missile program a serious threat to regional security the country will not permit its territory or airspace to be used for offensive operations.The UAE has the full right to defend itself, but a military solution is not possible. Escalation will only harm the region she said.
In response to recent Iranian attacks, the UAE has temporarily closed its embassy in Tehran and recalled its ambassador for consultations. Meanwhile, military officials in Abu Dhabi declared that the country is currently in a heightened state of alert.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense confirmed that the UAE Armed Forces are fully prepared for any potential threat. Officials stressed that there will be no compromise on the nation’s sovereignty and security, reaffirming the country’s readiness to defend its interests if necessary.
