Tehran: Iran’s Acting Defense Minister Majid bin Reza has been reportedly killed in a joint Israel Defense Forces and United States Armed Forces strike Iranian sources say. He had taken office only two days earlier after the death of the previous defense minister underscoring the rapid turnover of senior officials amid the conflict. The strike was initially described by the Israeli military as targeting a senior Iranian commander though his identity was not disclosed at the time.
The conflict between the countries continues to escalate, with the Iranian Red Crescent Society reporting that the death toll from U.S. and Israeli attacks across 153 Iranian cities has risen to about 787 people since the strikes began. The reported figure includes both military and civilian casualties, with more than 1,000 strikes carried out on over 500 locations nationwide.
Meanwhile, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham has controversially stated Cuba is next further intensifying geopolitical tensions. The situation remains highly volatile as regional and international concerns grow over the widening conflict and its potential global impact.
