Azakhel, Nowshera: Police at Azakhel Police Station have made significant progress in the murder case of a butcher that occurred in the Charsu Bazaar area of Azakhel Payan, arresting the alleged killer along with the murder weapon. Further investigation is currently underway.
According to reports, on March 3, 2026, a resident named Saqib, son of Sultanat and a resident of Azakhel Payan, filed a report at Azakhel Police Station. He stated that his family owns a butcher shop in the Charsu Bazaar area.
A day before the incident, his brother Kashif had a verbal dispute with Muhammad Nawab, also known as Mohammade, over the price of meat.
On the day of the incident, the accused allegedly arrived at the shop armed with a weapon and opened fire with the intention to kill. As a result, Kashif died on the spot.
Following the complaint, police immediately registered a case and launched an investigation.
The tragic incident created an atmosphere of grief and shock in the area and was widely discussed on social media as well as in the print media.
Taking immediate notice of the incident, District Police Officer Ahmed Shah ordered the swift arrest of the suspect. A special task force was formed under the supervision of Hafeez Yousafzai, SDPO Nowshera Cantt Circle.
The team included Adil Syed, SHO of Azakhel Police Station, investigation officer Farman Khan, and other police personnel.
The investigation team treated the case as a challenge and carried out modern investigative methods along with raids at various locations. As a result, the nominated suspect Muhammad Nawab alias Mohammade was arrested.
The murder weapon was also recovered based on the suspect’s identification.
Police officials confirmed that further interrogation of the suspect is ongoing, and other aspects of the case are being examined thoroughly.
DPO Ahmed Shah appreciated the performance of the police team and stated that operations against criminal elements will continue and the rule of law will be ensured at all costs.
