Leopard Spotted Near Faisal Masjid, Wildlife Board Issues Public Alert

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Wildlife officials urge caution as teams monitor the animal near Islamabad’s Margalla Hills region.

ISLAMABAD: Authorities have issued a public alert after a leopard was reportedly spotted near Faisal Masjid, raising safety concerns for residents and visitors in the area.

According to officials from the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board, videos circulating on social media show the animal roaming close to the mosque premises and nearby sectors. The location lies along the foothills of the Margalla Hills, which serve as a natural habitat for leopards and other wildlife.

Wildlife authorities said residents in surrounding neighborhoods and students at International Islamic University Islamabad have been informed about precautionary measures and standard safety procedures.

Officials urged the public not to approach or provoke wild animals and to immediately report any sightings to the wildlife department. “Encounters with wildlife are possible in areas bordering the Margalla Hills, and citizens should remain vigilant,” an IWMB spokesperson said.

As a precaution, authorities have also increased monitoring in nearby hiking trails and recreational spots around the hills. Wildlife teams are currently tracking the leopard and may attempt to safely capture or relocate the animal if necessary.

Officials emphasized that any operation will prioritize both public safety and the humane handling of the animal.
