ISLAMABAD (Yaseen Hashmi)- Pakistan’s Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has intensified its nationwide crackdown against drug trafficking, arresting nine suspects, including three women, in multiple operations carried out across different cities, officials said on Monday.
According to an ANF spokesperson, the force conducted nine separate operations, seizing 91.46 kilograms of narcotics worth more than Rs 86 million under the Anti-Narcotics Act, 1997. Cases have been registered and investigations are underway.
In Rawalpindi, ANF officials recovered 873 grams of opium concealed inside a waistcoat from a parcel destined for Canada at a courier office. In another operation at the same facility, 188 ecstasy pills weighing 66 grams were seized from a parcel. A third raid led to the recovery of two cannabis oil vapes weighing 76 grams from a parcel arriving from the United Kingdom.
Near the Islamabad Motorway Toll Plaza, authorities intercepted a vehicle and recovered 7 kilograms of crystal meth (ice) and 2.4 kilograms of hashish, arresting five suspects, including three women.
Additional recoveries included 4.8 kilograms of hashish from Sohrab Goth in Karachi, 3.6 kilograms near Sangjani Toll Plaza, and 500 psychotropic pills near Model Town, Islamabad. In Karachi’s Dildar Umrani Goth, 72 kilograms of hashish were recovered from two tractors.
