BAHAWALPUR: (Yaseen Hashmi) Army Chief and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Hafiz Syed Asim Munir on Wednesday visited the Bahawalpur Garrison to review the operational readiness of Pakistan Army with special focus on preparations for modern and multi-domain warfare, the military said.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, the Army Chief was briefed on operational, training and administrative matters including evolving combat strategies incorporating land, air, cyber and electronic warfare capabilities.
During the visit, Army Chief witnessed a high-intensity field exercise named “Steadfast Resolve” at Khairpur Tamewali. The drill demonstrated the successful integration of unmanned aerial systems, advanced surveillance capabilities, electronic warfare capabilities and modern command and control mechanisms, reflecting the military’s adaptation to rapidly changing battlefield dynamics.
Addressing troops, theField Marshal lauded their morale and combat preparedness, reaffirming the resolve of the armed forces to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Pakistan against all threats.
He said that the nature of warfare is changing rapidly with the advent of technology and it is essential to have innovation, mental agility, indigenous capability development and seamless coordination at all levels.
Army Chief also inaugurated Rohi E-Skills Learning Hub and APS Abbasiya Campus, emphasising the army’s commitment to education and digital skill development. He later visited the EME Regional Workshop to review maintenance and combat support capacities.
The visit was concluded with the Army Chief paying tribute to fallen soldiers by laying a floral wreath at the Martyrs’ Memorial.
