WEB DESK: Pakistan’s Meteorological department (PMD) has issued a fresh weather advisory warning of a new spell of snowfall expected to begin from tomorrow in the country’s upper regions.

According to the advisory, a strong system of cold winds is likely to enter northern and western parts of Pakistan, bringing snowfall to Murree, Galiyat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and several areas of Balochistan. The department additionally warned that a sudden drop in temperatures may cause rain accompanied by hailstorms in some plain and lower regions.

The PMD cautioned that middle of the night temperatures in plain regions could fall sharply, increasing the risk of excessive cold situations. travelers and farmers have been advised to plan their journeys and agricultural activities while keeping the changing weather situation in mind.

Local administrations and relevant authorities have urged citizens to strictly follow official advisories, especially before traveling to mountainous areas, where heavy snowfall has already disrupted daily life.

In recent days, a sharp rise in tourist inflow to Murree, Galiyat and surrounding areas led to traffic congestion and administrative challenges. thousands of vehicles were stranded due to heavy snowfall, forcing authorities to impose temporary access restrictions at various points.

Officials have appealed to the public to avoid unnecessary travel and cooperate with authorities to ensure safety during the harsh weather conditions.
