The Balochistan government has announced new business hours aimed at conserving energy, making it the first province in Pakistan to implement such measures.
According to the provincial authorities, all markets and businesses will now close by 8:00 PM. Additionally, wedding halls and hotels have been instructed to shut down by 10:00 PM. The decision is part of a broader strategy to reduce energy consumption amid ongoing challenges related to power supply.
Officials stated that the move is intended to promote efficient energy use and help manage electricity demand across the province. They emphasized that public cooperation will be essential for the success of this initiative.
Traditionally, businesses in Balochistan remain open until around 10:00 PM. However, the revised schedule marks a significant shift in daily commercial activity, reflecting the government’s commitment to addressing energy concerns.
Authorities believe that these steps will not only ease pressure on the power system but also encourage responsible energy usage among citizens and business owners.
