Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor has revealed that she suffered severe emotional distress after discovering fake explicit images of herself on an adult website during her school years.
Speaking on a podcast, Janhvi Kapoor explained that the incident occurred while she was attending an IT class. The images, which were entirely deepfake and unrelated to reality, exposed her at a young age to the darker side of fame. She described the experience as a stark lesson in the negative consequences of public visibility.
She questioned whether being a public figure comes with the unavoidable price of enduring such unethical material. Janhvi also expressed concern about AI-generated fake content circulating on social media, noting that fabricated images and videos of her are often presented as real—even occasionally shared by credible news platforms.
The actress warned that these false materials could create professional challenges, as future directors or collaborators might attempt to use them as leverage or exert undue pressure. She emphasized the urgent need for stronger safeguards against the misuse of AI-generated and manipulated media to protect the privacy and reputation of public personalities.
This revelation has sparked discussions about digital ethics, online harassment, and the responsibility of platforms in monitoring and removing deepfake and non-consensual content.
