PESHAWAR: (AnwarKhyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi met with a delegation of business leaders from the former FATA and PATA regions at the Governor House on Tuesday.
The delegation included Inam Khan, President of Malakand Chamber of Commerce and Industry, founding President Muhammad Shoaib Khan, Haji Lali Shah, President of Bajaur Chamber of Commerce, Amir Muhammad Khan of Mohmand Chamber of Commerce, Shahzad Arif, General Secretary of KP Traders Association, and other representatives. Provincial Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) President Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha was also present.
During the meeting, the delegation expressed concerns over the imposition of excessive taxes in the former FATA and PATA regions. They requested the governor’s support in raising these issues with relevant federal authorities and addressing broader challenges faced by local businesses.
Governor emphasized that the business community forms the backbone of the national economy and that resolving their issues is a top government priority. He assured the delegation that their concerns regarding taxes and other business obstacles would be vigorously presented to federal authorities and relevant institutions.
This dialogue reflects ongoing efforts to enhance the economic environment in the newly merged tribal districts, aiming to facilitate trade and attract investment while addressing regional grievances.
