Anti-Corruption Drive or Eye Wash? CDA Moves 97 Staff to Human Resource Development (HRD) Directorate

Islamabad (Hafeez Darwesh) — The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has directed 97 more officers and staff to report to the Human Resource Development (HRD) Directorate. This action has sparked new discussions about whether the move is a real effort to fight corruption or just a regular administrative step. The order, approved by the  Chairman CDA and signed by Deputy Director HRD-II Mian Usman Ud Din, includes employees from several departments like enforcement, estate, engineering, law, and administration. The people affected are sub–engineers, junior assistants, supervisors, and others, who are told to stop their current jobs immediately and go to HRD. The decision has caused worry within the CDA.
