ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif held a meeting with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Suhail Afridi at the Prime Minister’s Office, discussing key provincial issues and ongoing government initiatives.
The meeting included KP Finance Advisor Mazammil Aslam, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Federal Minister Amir Muqam, and Rana Sanaullah from the federal government. According to sources, the discussion focused on security and development in Tirah Valley, the peace jirga process, and counter-terrorism efforts.
Chief Minister Afridi also raised matters related to the National Finance Commission (NFC) and provincial coordination on administrative and financial issues.
Sources from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) noted that the meeting aimed to strengthen collaboration between federal and provincial authorities while addressing security challenges in KP.
The meeting comes amid ongoing regional security concerns and federal efforts to ensure stability in volatile areas. Officials emphasized the importance of cooperation between the federal government and provincial leadership to address local issues effectively.
The discussions also underscored the need for continued dialogue on development projects, law enforcement, and mechanisms to improve governance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
