Dera Ismail Khan: A thought provoking and impactful debate session titled Countering Violent Extremism through Multiple Strategies was held at Government Girls Degree College No. 1 Dera Ismail Khan with active participation from students and faculty.
The academic and intellectual activity was organized under the supervision of Principal Madam Afia Saadat Qaisrani whose guidance and patronage ensured the success of the event.The debate was conducted in the Asian Parliamentary style, featuring clearly defined roles of Speaker Ruling Party and Opposition.
Students demonstrated remarkable confidence intellectual maturity and strong argumentative skills while discussing the causes of extremism its adverse social moral and educational impacts and practical measures to counter it.The speakers emphasized that extremism promotes hatred intolerance, and unrest, posing a serious threat to national progress and stability.Education, dialogue, tolerance, patience and positive thinking were highlighted as effective tools to combat extremist tendencies.
In her concluding address, Principal Afia Saadat Qaisrani stressed that peace is the foundation of individual and collective development. She appreciated the efforts of CCA Team In-charge Ms. Shagufta Kanwal and Pakistan Studies faculty members Ms. Kulsoom Bibi, Ms. Elizabeth, and Ms. Asia Khalil for organizing the event efficiently.
Outstanding student performances were applauded and it was reaffirmed that such constructive activities will continue in the future.
