Fakhar Zaman Ruled Out of Pakistan vs Bangladesh ODI Series with Hamstring Injury

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Hamstring injury during T20 World Cup clash sidelines Pakistan’s power-hitter; selectors eye fresh talent for Bangladesh tour

Pakistan’s explosive opener Fakhar Zaman has been ruled out of the upcoming three-match ODI series against Bangladesh after sustaining a hamstring injury during his blistering knock against Sri Lanka in the ICC T20 World Cup.

The left-hander, known for his fearless stroke play, suffered discomfort mid-innings but continued batting, raising concerns within the team management. Following medical evaluation, he has been advised rest and rehabilitation. Fakhar is set to begin his recovery program at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore, aiming to regain full fitness at the earliest.

Pakistan are scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on March 9, with a practice session lined up for March 10. The ODI series will be played on March 11, 13, and 15 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

This marks Pakistan’s second tour of Bangladesh since July 2025. While Bangladesh clinched the previous T20 series, Pakistan dominated the ODI leg in May-June 2025, sweeping the hosts 3-0 under the leadership of Salman Ali Agha.

Fakhar’s absence has intensified speculation over squad changes. Selectors are reportedly considering fresh faces, with underperforming players from the T20 setup likely to be replaced. Senior batter Babar Azam remains central to plans, but opportunities may open up for emerging talents as Pakistan look to maintain their ODI dominance in Dhaka.
