Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khosa, former Governor of Punjab, has passed away in Lahore. He was 90 years old and had been under treatment at a hospital for some time, according to his family.
Khosa was first elected to the Punjab Assembly in 1962 and remained active in politics for several decades, spending most of his career with the Pakistan Muslim League.
Throughout his political journey, he held several key positions, including provincial minister, advisor, senator, and Governor of Punjab. He also served as the provincial president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) during the exile period of Nawaz Sharif.
Before the 2018 general elections, Khosa joined the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), marking a significant shift in his political alignment.
His death marks the end of a long and influential political career spanning more than half a century in Punjab’s political landscape.
