A fresh weather system is expected to affect large parts of Pakistan on Monday, bringing cold conditions, rain, snowfall and strong winds to several regions, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). Authorities have urged residents, particularly in hilly and vulnerable areas, to remain cautious.
The PMD said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan and Upper Punjab will experience cold and partly cloudy weather with spells of rain, thundershowers and snowfall. Moderate to heavy snowfall is likely at isolated locations in upper and hilly areas, while strong winds may accompany rainfall in some districts.
In Islamabad and surrounding areas, the weather will remain cold and partly cloudy, with rain and thundershowers expected during the evening and night. Fog may develop in the early morning hours.
Most parts of Punjab will see cloudy conditions, with rain and thundershowers expected at isolated places in southern and central districts, including Multan, Bahawalpur, Sargodha, Faisalabad and Lahore. Murree, Galiyat and nearby areas are likely to remain extremely cold, with rain or snowfall and strong winds.
Sindh is expected to experience cold and partly cloudy weather, with gusty winds and thundershowers in upper districts such as Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad and Dadu.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain and thundershowers are forecast in several districts, while heavy rain and moderate to heavy snowfall may occur in upper regions during the night. Balochistan, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are also likely to receive rain and snowfall accompanied by strong winds.
