Fuel Price Update: Diesel Up by Rs11.30, Petrol Stays the Same

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

The government has revised the prices of petroleum products, keeping the price of petrol unchanged while increasing the rate of high-speed diesel.

According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the new fuel prices will remain effective for the next 15 days. As per the notification, the price of petrol has been maintained at Rs253.17 per litre.

Meanwhile, the price of high-speed diesel has been increased by Rs11.30 per litre. After the increase, the new price of high-speed diesel has been fixed at Rs268.38 per litre.

High-speed diesel is primarily used in transport, agriculture, and industrial sectors, and the increase is expected to have a direct impact on freight charges and the cost of essential goods.

Officials stated that fuel prices are adjusted in accordance with international oil market trends and fluctuations in the exchange rate. The government reviews petroleum prices on a regular basis to balance economic stability and consumer impact.

The decision to keep petrol prices unchanged is expected to provide limited relief to private vehicle owners, while the hike in diesel prices may affect public transport fares and overall inflation.
