The government has announced an increase in petroleum product prices, raising the cost of petrol and high-speed diesel across the country.
According to the notification issued by the Petroleum Division, petrol prices have been increased by Rs5 per litre. The new price of petrol now stands at Rs258.17 per litre.
Meanwhile, the price of high-speed diesel has been raised by Rs7.32 per litre, taking the new rate to Rs275.70 per litre.
The revised prices have come into effect immediately following the official notification.
