A tense situation reportedly unfolded during a joint parliamentary party meeting of the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) as several leaders exchanged strong remarks and expressed concerns over internal party matters.
According to sources, a heated argument occurred between PTI leader Shahid Khattak and Senator Falak Naz Chitrali (Zarqa Suharwardy Taimur). Khattak allegedly accused the senator of taking money and questioned her presence at the meeting. The accusation angered senior party member Ali Zafar who strongly objected and warned that he would boycott the meeting if party members continued to be disrespected.
Sources said several members of the National Assembly and Senate criticized Khattak for crossing limits during the discussion. Senator Zarqa defended herself stating that she had already responded to the notice issued to her and that the party could have expelled her if they were not satisfied.
PTI Chairman Gohar Ali Khan reportedly remarked that while tensions were rising in the region due to the situation involving Iran internal disputes within the party were also escalating.
Despite the tense exchanges PTI leaders later downplayed the incident, saying disagreements among party members are normal and not a serious issue.
