Continuous heavy rainfall in Murree, also known as Malika-e-Kohsar, has triggered landslides in several areas, particularly affecting Jhika Gali.
The district administration immediately launched rescue operations to ensure public safety. On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi, officials and emergency teams reached the affected area and safely evacuated residents to secure locations.
All relevant departments, including Rescue 1122, police, the highway department, and local government authorities, are actively working in coordination on the ground. Emergency machinery, vehicles, medical facilities, and staff have been deployed to respond quickly to any situation. Affected families are also being provided with food and basic necessities.
Authorities confirmed that the highway department and NESPAK have prepared a treatment plan, which will be implemented once weather conditions improve.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast more rain in the coming days. Additional Deputy Commissioner Umar Awais Kiani visited the site and directed officials to utilize all available resources to ensure public safety. Citizens have been advised to follow safety guidelines and cooperate with authorities.
