Islamabad: Details have emerged regarding the taxes paid by Pakistani citizens on a liter of petrol and diesel. According to Ministry of Energy documents, 46% of a petrol liter’s price consists of taxes and profits. Citizens pay PKR 211.26 per liter as tax, while the ex-refinery price of petrol is PKR 247.15.
For diesel, citizens pay PKR 59.12 per liter in taxes and profits, with the ex-refinery price at PKR 461.23 per liter.
The government recently increased petrol by PKR 137.24 and diesel by PKR 184.49 per liter.

- PKR 7.87 oil marketing company profit
- PKR 8.64 pump dealer commission
