LAHORE: (Yaseen Hashmi) Federal Interior Minister and Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board Mohsin Naqvi met chinese Consul General Zhao Shiren in Lahore on Tuesday, where both sides discussed bilateral relations, Pak-China friendship, and avenues for mutual cooperation.
During the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi appreciated the services of Consul general Zhao Shiren and extended best wishes for his future endeavors. Zhao praised Naqvi’s rapid-paced governance and performance, saying that his efforts to strengthen Pakistan-China relations were broadly acknowledged.
The chinese diplomat stated that Mohsin Naqvi, first as chief minister of Punjab and now as interior minister, had taken exceptional steps to promote bilateral ties. He added that his stay in Pakistan had been memorable and productive.
Mohsin Naqvi described his relationship with Zhao Shiren as brotherly and stated it would retain within the future, including that the consul general’s presence in Lahore would be missed. He additionally shared details of his recent visit to China, stating that a three-and-a-half-hour meeting with chinese Minister of Public security Wang Xiaohong was cordial and highly beneficial.
Mohsin Naqvi said cooperation between the two countries in areas of mutual interest become expanding and announced another visit to China in September for further engagements.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Naqvi presented Zhao with a cricket bat signed by national players, while the chinese consul general gifted Naqvi a book authored by chinese President Xi Jinping.
