Islamabad: Signs of internal differences within Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) have emerged after party lawmaker Shandana Gulzar reportedly reacted strongly to a recent interview by Aleema Khan.
According to sources Gulzar shared her criticism in the party’s parliamentary WhatsApp group expressing dissatisfaction with remarks made during the interview. She allegedly described the statements as reflecting shock old age and mental stress.
Sources further claimed that Gulzar questioned the relevance of such discussions suggesting that individuals of a certain age should avoid controversial political commentary. The remarks reportedly sparked debate within internal party circles.
Gulzar also raised concerns about the party’s messaging and priorities. She noted that members had been instructed to focus on February 8, while a video of Basant celebrations allegedly associated with the same date was circulating on social media. Her comments appeared to question inconsistencies in public narratives.
The episode underscores growing strains within PTI as internal disagreements increasingly spill into public view. Political observers suggest that such developments may signal widening gaps within the party’s ranks at a politically sensitive time, potentially affecting unity and strategic direction.
