Reports from Iranian media and US sources suggest coordinated strikes targeting American military and diplomatic facilities in Kuwait and Iraq.
Tensions in the Middle East intensified after Iranian state media reported that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched a missile attack on a United States military base in Kuwait.
According to Iran’s Fars and Mehr news agencies, the IRGC’s Ground Force missile unit fired two projectiles targeting Camp Arifjan, a major US military installation located south of Kuwait City. Iranian outlets quoted the Guards as saying the base was successfully struck. However, Kuwaiti authorities have not issued any official confirmation, and the claims could not be independently verified.
Around the same time, a separate security incident was reported in Iraq. The Washington Post, citing an unnamed security official and an internal US State Department alert, reported that a drone struck a US diplomatic support center near Baghdad International Airport.
The facility serves as an important logistics hub supporting American diplomatic operations and lies close to Iraqi military bases. Initial reports indicated no immediate casualties, though the extent of damage remains unclear.
Neither the White House, the US State Department, nor the Pentagon has released public statements about the attacks.
If confirmed, the reported strikes could represent a significant escalation in regional tensions, especially if Iran’s claim of direct involvement in the Kuwait incident proves accurate. The incidents highlight growing security risks facing US military and diplomatic assets across the region.
