TEHRAN/DUBAI: Iran has reiterated its determination to push United States forces out of the Middle East, even if a ceasefire is achieved, reflecting a hardline stance amid escalating regional tensions.
Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi stated that Iran’s strategy is to make the region increasingly difficult for US troops, continuing pressure until their full withdrawal. He warned that any American ground operation would face severe resistance and heavy losses.
Iran also confirmed restrictions on access through the Strait of Hormuz, barring US and Israeli vessels, further heightening global concerns over energy security.
Meanwhile, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps denied involvement in an alleged drone attack on the US embassy in Riyadh, rejecting reports that linked Tehran to the incident.
Tensions have surged following military exchanges involving Iran and Israel, with reported strikes on Iranian energy infrastructure, including key petrochemical facilities. Casualties have been reported, though authorities say the situation remains under control.
In Washington, President Donald Trump is reportedly considering stronger measures against Iran, raising fears among analysts of a wider regional conflict that could disrupt global energy markets and draw in major world powers.
