Iran says Pakistan’s mediation efforts are vital for stability and dialogue in conflict-hit region
TEHRAN: Iran has strongly welcomed the diplomatic efforts of Pakistan aimed at reducing escalating tensions in the Middle East, describing Islamabad’s role as “positive and indispensable” for regional peace and stability.
In an official statement, Mohammad Reza Bahrami, assistant foreign minister and director general for South Asia, said Tehran attaches high importance to initiatives that promote dialogue and diplomacy to ease regional conflicts. He stressed that peaceful engagement remains the only viable path to reducing geopolitical tensions.
Iran Stresses Dialogue as Key to Stability
Bahrami said Iran appreciates Pakistan’s active diplomatic outreach, particularly efforts aimed at de-escalating hostilities involving the United States and what he described as the “Zionist regime.” He added that such initiatives align with Iran’s position on protecting its legitimate rights and promoting peace through negotiation.
He further noted that in times of heightened geopolitical pressure, diplomatic engagement plays a crucial role in restoring stability and preventing further escalation. Iran, he said, has always supported regional cooperation and dialogue as the foundation for resolving disputes.
Pakistan has recently intensified its diplomatic activity, urging all regional and global stakeholders to avoid confrontation and instead pursue talks. Although Islamabad has not disclosed full details of its mediation efforts, diplomatic observers believe its balanced approach aligns with broader regional calls for peace.
The Iranian endorsement is expected to enhance Pakistan’s diplomatic standing internationally and contribute to growing consensus on the need for a peaceful resolution to ongoing regional conflicts.
