Pakistan and China reaffirm support for UN-based principles, urging immediate ceasefire and protection of civilian infrastructure amid ongoing regional tensions.
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has returned to Pakistan after completing an official visit to China, where high-level discussions focused on regional stability, diplomacy, and conflict resolution frameworks.
According to the joint communiqué issued during the visit, both sides underscored the importance of the United Nations’ authority, rule of law, and a comprehensive political settlement to ongoing conflicts. The statement strongly called for an immediate ceasefire and emphasized the need to end all attacks targeting civilian infrastructure.
Chinese Foreign Minister reportedly advised Ishaq Dar to take a day of rest before his departure, highlighting the intensity of the diplomatic engagements during the visit.
The two countries reiterated their shared vision for peace and stability in the region, stressing that sustainable solutions must be based on international law and multilateral cooperation. The discussions are seen as part of ongoing Pakistan–China coordination on broader geopolitical challenges and regional security concerns.
