According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, held important meetings with prominent Austrian personalities during his visit.
He met with former Austrian Ambassador to Pakistan, Brigitte Blaha, who served in Islamabad from 2014 to 2018. During her tenure, a protocol amending the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement between Pakistan and Austria was signed in 2015, when Ishaq Dar was serving as Pakistan’s Finance Minister.
The Deputy Prime Minister also met with Austria’s former Minister of Defense, Werner Fasslabend. In addition, he held a meeting with Austria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Vienna, Gabriela Sellner.
During these meetings, discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Austria, enhancing diplomatic cooperation, and expanding partnerships across various sectors. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening collaboration and exploring new avenues of mutual interest to further solidify ties between the two countries.
