Islamabad High Court intervenes to expedite legal formalities for senior advocate Aitzaz Ahsan
Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court has directed the Advocate General of Islamabad to ensure that Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan’s power of attorney is signed while he is in jail, amid delays in the submission of his legal documents.
During the proceedings, Barrister Ahsan expressed concern that his power of attorney had been circulating without proper signatures. Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir inquired if he sought a hearing delay, to which Ahsan replied that he was not requesting any postponement. The court then instructed the Advocate General to obtain the necessary signatures from the jailed senior lawyer.
This order aims to streamline the legal representation process for Barrister Ahsan, ensuring that bureaucratic delays do not impede the progress of the case.
The development highlights the judiciary’s proactive approach in facilitating legal procedures for incarcerated lawyers and emphasizes timely access to legal documentation.
