Islamabad Police have arrested all suspects involved in the murder of businessman Aamir Awan officials confirmed during a press conference in Islamabad. Speaking alongside the Inspector General, Talal Chaudhry stated that the accused were apprehended within 24 hours of the incident, which occurred two days ago.
According to authorities, Aamir Awan was killed during a robbery attempt. Investigations revealed that the crime was carried out by the Mansoor Khan gang reportedly linked to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with some members identified as Afghan nationals.
Talal Chaudhry added that the suspects were tracked and arrested across multiple locations between Karachi and Khyber highlighting the nationwide scale of the operation. He also noted a 63 percent decline in major crimes in Islamabad compared to last year attributing the improvement to ongoing reforms.
Officials emphasized the use of advanced technology in solving the case. The Inspector General stated that geo fencing was conducted at six different locations to trace the suspects, showcasing the growing role of digital tools in modern policing.
Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening security and transforming Islamabad into a smart city.
