Islamabad Police Report Sharp Crime Drop, Improved Security in 2025

Islamabad: (Click Pakistan) Islamabad Police made significant crime and security gains in 2025.

Islamabad Police provided its overall performance report to the Justice Committee meeting under the dynamic leadership of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi.

The report cites that the situation regarding law and order in the federal capital has significantly improved, the rate of crime has reduced, and it has also provided modern facilities to the citizens.

According to the report, 76 percent construction work of the Federal Prison Islamabad is already in place and the prison will be fully functional in the year 2026. Islamabad Federal Prison It has also appointed the first Superintendent of Prisons.

With the success of the adopted strategy at Islamabad Police, a massive reduction in violent crimes has been registered within the federal capital. There are extensive security checks in residential and commercial premises both during the day and night, which have not interrupted business and normal life in the entire city.

Based on the Numbeo public safety index, Islamabad has been proclaimed as one of the safest cities in the world with Islamabad scoring 68.6 percent, higher than the world cities like London, New York, and Paris.

Between 1st January 2024 and 31 st December 2025, the total crime was recorded to have fallen by 23 percent, and the number of calls in which crime was reported in the Pucar-15 reduced by 32 percent.

In 2025, Islamabad Police had already apprehended 1,552 court absconders, 2,062 proclaimed criminals, and 990 habitual criminals. The use of modern digital surveillance, AI-based software, CDRs analysis, Hotel Eye, Travel Eye, tenant registration systems, and special search operations were used to conduct effective operations.

It resulted in 1,395 accused people being arrested in 1,594 cases and the recovery of stolen property worth RS. 536 million in the same period. In the case of illegal possession of weapons, 2,375 accused persons were detained, and 2,336 cases were registered, which resulted in recovery of a significant amount of weapons and ammunition.

During the anti-narcotics activities, 1,889 suspected persons were arrested and large amounts of hashish, heroin, ice, opium, and liquor were seized. In the same manner, kite flying, begging and other societal vices were dealt with effectively.

By the year 2025, Islamabad Police was able to crack several high-profile cases that had a direct connection to terrorism, murder, kidnapping, robbery, and other atrocious criminal acts and then apprehended the accused and presented challengans in the concerned courts.

In a bid to maintain law and order, 351 VVIP movements, security of national and international dignitaries and delegations, parliamentary sessions, protests, national and international events, and thousands of other meetings got proper security safeguards.

The system installed the modern checkpoints around the city with the number plate recognition and facial recognition cameras. Body-worn cameras and the use of contemporary wireless communication systems were provided to police officers, which led to increased security and also increased smooth traffic movement.

In the year 2025, there were more than 739, 000 citizens receiving services at 13 modern Khidmat Markaz of the Islamabad Police, and the Online Women Police Station was still functioning 24/7 to provide protection and support to women.

Having high-level AI-based systems, CCTV cameras, drones, and data analysis tools, the crime rates were reduced at hotspots by up to 70 percent with the assistance of the Safe City Islamabad.

This performance is what the Justice Committee admired about the overall performance of Islamabad Police and it is an indication of how the Islamabad Police takes the issue of the safety of its citizens, modern policing, and the rule of law.
