JICA, KP Government Launch Skills Training Program for Youth and Women in Wana

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

WANA: (Roshan Khan) The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), in collaboration with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, has launched technical training programs for youth and women in South Waziristan Lower, officials said.

The initiative is part of a broader program aimed at strengthening the capacity of local government officials in the province’s newly merged districts. The project is being implemented with the support of Wana Tehsil Chairman Maulana Saleh Wazir and the Tehsil Council Wana.

The primary objective of the program is to equip young people and women with modern skills to improve employment opportunities and promote economic self-reliance. Under the initiative, youth will receive training in digital fields such as e-commerce and freelancing, enabling them to earn income through online platforms.

Women participants will be provided professional tailoring training to help them generate income from home-based businesses. Upon successful completion of the training, youth participants will receive free laptops, while women will be provided sewing machines to help them start their own work.

In addition to skills development, an anti-drug awareness campaign is being launched to educate young people about the harmful effects of narcotics and encourage healthier lifestyles.

Local social and educational circles have welcomed the initiative, stating that such programs not only create employment opportunities but also contribute to social stability and regional development.
