The provincial Excise and Taxation Department Sindh has issued a notification setting fees of up to Rs2 million for obtaining preferred or special motor vehicle registration numbers in Karachi.
According to the notification, vehicle owners who wish to acquire specific registration numbers can obtain them by paying the approved amount, with the maximum fee capped at Rs2 million.
Under the revised structure, registration numbers 786 and 110 will cost Rs2 million.
Three-digit registration numbers ranging from 111 to 999 (selected premium series) will be available at Rs1 million per number.
Similarly, certain three-digit numbers from 100 to 900, as well as numbers from 001 to 009, will cost Rs500,000 each.
All other choice numbers will be available for Rs300,000.
The new fee structure has been implemented with immediate effect.
