SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: (Roshan Khan) Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed with patriotic fervor in Lower and Upper South Waziristan, where rallies and public gatherings were organized to express support for the people of Kashmir.
In Lower South Waziristan’s main town of Wana, a rally was held outside the Wana Police Lines under the supervision of district administration and police officials. The event was led by Deputy Commissioner Musarrat Zaman, District Police Officer Mohammad Tahir and DSP Asghar Ali Shah. Tribal elders, journalists, youth and residents participated in large numbers, carrying banners and placards displaying messages of solidarity with Kashmiris.
National anthems of Pakistan and Kashmir were played during the rally, while participants chanted slogans supporting the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination. Speakers at the concluding gathering reiterated Pakistan’s political, diplomatic and moral support for Kashmiris and urged the international community to address alleged human rights violations in Indian-administered Kashmir.
Meanwhile, similar events were organized at the DC Compound in Upper South Waziristan’s Tank area under directives from provincial authorities. Government officials, tribal leaders and civil society members attended the rally.
