Khan 1 Number Plate Sold for Rs11.1 Million at Peshawar Auction

PESHAWAR, Pakistan – A mass sale of personalised car number plates took place at the Nishtar Hall, Peshawar, attracting an impressive number of people who attended with their bids and offers and some high bids for best number plates in history.

The report by one of the television, which was not publicized, said that the highest bid price during the auction was the Wazir 1 that was auctioned at Rs15 million, thus becoming the most expensive number plate of the event. Afridi 1 was another plate that was sold at high value of Rs14.5 million and was sold to Peshawar Zalmi owner Javed Afridi.

The “Khan 1” number plate of the car also garnered a lot of attention and fetched 11.1 million Rs. Provincial assembly member Naik Muhammad Khan bought the plate.

Other prominent sales were attracting Peshawar 1 which was auctioned at 10 million rupees and Haripur 1 that was auctioned at 8 million rupees. The Yousafzai 1 plate fetch Rs.Four million nine hundred and twenty thousand rupees, and Durrani 1 sold off at Rupees. One Million six hundred sixty thousand Rupees. Other plates were Malakand 1 of Rs12.5 Lakh and Swabi 1 of Rs1.2 million.

The organizers of the auction indicated that they did it through transparent procedures in order to create equal participation. They further stated that further auctions would be conducted by internet bidding to enable more people to access. The auction will be used in development projects of the provinces.
