The senior PML-N leader received a stent after doctors discovered a blocked artery and is reportedly recovering well
ISLAMABAD: Former Railway Minister and senior Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leader Khawaja Saad Rafique was admitted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) following a heart-related health scare.
According to hospital sources, doctors inserted a stent to treat a blocked artery and later discharged him for rest at home. Khawaja Saad Rafique’s younger brother, and Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique, along with other family members, were present at the hospital during the procedure.
Speaking to reporters, Rafique said he had gone to the hospital for a routine check-up when doctors identified a blocked artery that required immediate stenting. “Alhamdulillah, after the treatment, I am back home and, by Allah’s grace, feeling much better,” he said.
The PML-N leader’s prompt treatment has reassured party colleagues and supporters about his health condition.
