Provincial leadership calls for immediate improvements in hospital performance, staffing, and patient care standards.

A high-level meeting of the Board of Governors of Qazi Hussain Ahmad Medical Complex was held in Peshawar under the chairmanship of Khaliq ur Rehman and Mian Muhammad Umar Kakakhel, with senior health officials in attendance.

During the session, officials reviewed the hospital’s overall performance, challenges, and future strategy. The facility was highlighted as the only tertiary care teaching hospital in Nowshera district, serving a large population with essential medical services.

Addressing the meeting, the health minister stressed the importance of the newly formed Board of Governors and directed immediate steps to improve hospital performance. He ordered strict enforcement of doctors’ attendance, uninterrupted availability of quality medicines, proper functioning of medical equipment, and improved cleanliness and discipline within the hospital.

He warned that negligence would not be tolerated and called for a strong monitoring system, with action against those failing in their duties. The hospital administration was also instructed to ensure a clean, patient-friendly environment and promote positive behavior among staff to improve patient care.

The minister said the purpose of the Board of Governors is to accelerate decision-making and modernize hospital operations. He added that easing restrictions on recruitment would help address staff shortages.

Officials assured that visible improvements in service delivery and patient satisfaction would be achieved soon, reaffirming the health department’s commitment to strengthening the healthcare system in the province.
