PESHAWAR: Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed visited hospitals in Peshawar to inquire about the health of police officers injured in separate security incidents, praising their courage and dedication.
During his visit to Lady Reading Hospital (LRH), the IGP met Additional SHO Bahar Ali, who was wounded while bravely foiling a bank robbery attempt at Pir Bala on Warsak Road. Despite sustaining bullet injuries, the officer confronted the suspects and helped prevent a major crime.
The police chief spoke with doctors and directed them to ensure the best possible medical care for the injured officer. He also met Bahar Ali’s family and assured them of full support from the police department. “Bahar Ali is a pride of the KP Police. All necessary steps are being taken for his swift recovery,” the IGP said.
Later, Zulfiqar Hameed visited Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Peshawar, where officers injured in an IED blast targeting a police vehicle in Wana Bazaar are receiving treatment. The injured include SHO Saifullah Wazir, Additional SHO Momin Khan Dotani, and SI Muhammad Ali Wazir.
The IGP presented flower bouquets and financial assistance cheques to the wounded officers and expressed prayers for their speedy recovery.
Senior police officials accompanying the visit included DIG Welfare Muhammad Kashif Mushtaq Kanju, CCPO Peshawar Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmed, SSP Operations Farhan Khan, PSO to IGP Rai Mazhar Iqbal, and AIG Welfare Zahoor Ahmed.
