Investigation Underway After Improvised Explosive Device Injures Five Police Personnel in Lakki Marwat
At least five police personnel, including an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), were injured in a targeted blast on a police vehicle in Shahbaz Khel, Lakki Marwat, on Tuesday, police officials confirmed.
The explosion occurred near Shahbaz Khel Adda while a vehicle from the local police station was on patrol. Authorities immediately transported the injured officers to the District Headquarters Hospital for urgent medical care.
Police sources said the blast was caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) planted on a motorcycle. Law enforcement has launched a thorough investigation to determine the motives behind the attack and to identify those responsible.
No militant or extremist group has claimed responsibility for the incident so far. Local authorities have increased security in sensitive areas to prevent further attacks.
Officials emphasized vigilance and cooperation from the public as the investigation continues.
