LHCBA Election Results Disputed as Independent Group Demands Re Poll

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

A major controversy has erupted over the results of the recent elections of the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) as the Independent Group, also known as the Asma Jahangir Group rejected the outcome of the February 28 polls and demanded a transparent re-election following a thorough investigation.

Speaking at a press conference at the Pakistan Bar Council office in Lahore, presidential candidate Raja Aamir Khan accused the Professional Group led by Hamid Khan, of serious irregularities during the voting process.

He alleged that although polling was scheduled to continue until 5pm, the process was halted nearly two hours earlier. According to him, the results were later announced through a computerized system producing what he described as a “computer-generated cabinet” that did not truly represent the lawyers.

Senior Independent Group leader Munir Ahmed Khan urged the Punjab Bar Council to suspend the current cabinet and appoint a caretaker setup until fresh elections are held. He also demanded a forensic audit of the election process and review of CCTV footage from polling day.

Vice presidential candidate Haseeb Bin Yousaf questioned the voting figures, while finance secretary candidate Nida Noor called for a transparent inquiry to ensure credibility and fairness in the electoral process.
