Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz delivered a speech at University of Gujrat where she contrasted Punjab’s development initiatives with conditions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Addressing students, she emphasized technical training and educational opportunities available to Punjab’s youth while expressing concern over what she described as a lack of progress in KP. She stated that development education and stability should be priorities across all provinces adding that disorder and unrest were not the destiny of any region’s youth.
Maryam Nawaz stressed that her perspective was rooted in national unity, saying she considered herself first Pakistani then Punjabi. She urged political actors to avoid personal attacks and focus instead on performance policy and public service. She also called for an end to violence protests and instability advocating constructive political engagement.
Referring indirectly to jailed political leadership at Adiala Jail she maintained that humanitarian standards must be upheld including access to medical care and proper facilities.
The Chief Minister further highlighted Punjab’s youth initiatives, including laptop distribution and skills development programs describing them as investments in the future generation. She concluded by underscoring accountability in governance noting that power is temporary and leaders remain answerable to both the public and God.
