Islamabad: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has terminated the contracts of 77 officers after the completion of a three-month extension granted by the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC), officials have confirmed.
The affected officers include 4 Deputy Directors, 47 Assistant Directors, 1 Office Superintendent, 7 Technical Officers, and 18 Inspectors. These officers, ranging from Grade 16 to Grade 18, were serving in various technical, forensic, and investigation wings of the agency.
However, the contract of Assistant Director Investigation Asad Fakhruddin has been retained until the completion of an ongoing inquiry.
According to sources, the large-scale termination may impact ongoing cases and pending complaints, as several important investigations were assigned to these officers.
Meanwhile, the agency’s Director General has submitted a PC-1 proposal for 258 new positions. Efforts to regularize former contract officers and establish permanent posts under existing rules have so far not been successful.
