Large-scale sweep targets suspects, vehicles, and residences to strengthen security
ISLAMABAD: Police carried out a large-scale search and combing operation across multiple areas of the federal capital in an effort to curb crime and enhance public safety, officials said.
According to a police spokesperson, the operation was conducted under the supervision of zonal Superintendents of Police (SPs) and included participation from women police officers. During the operation, law enforcement personnel screened 409 individuals and searched 309 houses in surrounding areas.
Police also inspected 126 motorcycles and 56 vehicles as part of the crackdown. Authorities detained 18 suspicious individuals, including one Afghan national, and seized 14 motorcycles for further investigation. The suspects and vehicles were shifted to relevant police stations for verification and legal processing.
Officials stated that the operation aims to eliminate criminal elements and ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property. Islamabad Inspector General of Police has directed authorities to continue such grand search operations across the district to maintain law and order.
Police urged residents to cooperate with law enforcement agencies during security checks and report any suspicious activities immediately. Authorities emphasized that ensuring public safety remains the top priority of Islamabad Police.
