Matriculation examinations have started in Karachi from today, but uncertainty persists as the board continues to change examination centres at the last minute.
Students and parents have expressed concern and frustration, saying that exam centres listed on admit cards were changed just a day before the exams, causing significant inconvenience and confusion.
The situation escalated when Sindh Education Boards Minister Muhammad Ismail Rahoo strongly expressed anger over delays in issuing admit cards and issues with online access. He also issued a notice to the Chairman of the Karachi Matric Board, directing action against those responsible for negligence and warning of disciplinary action if a satisfactory response is not received within three days.
Meanwhile, the Controller of Examinations said that all arrangements have been completed. A monitoring cell has been set up at the Commissioner’s office on the board’s request, while Section 144 has been imposed around examination centres to maintain law and order.
Security agencies have also been instructed to monitor WhatsApp groups suspected of leaking exam papers.
Authorities further stated that students who are unable to reach their assigned centres on the first day will be allowed to take the exam at the nearest centre.
