Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has rejected what he described as “baseless propaganda” regarding the eyesight of PTI founder Imran Khan, assuring that the government is providing all necessary medical facilities.
Speaking to the media in Lahore, Naqvi said the government believes in transparency and had even asked PTI to nominate a personal doctor to ensure clarity in the medical examination process. He stated that a non-political eye specialist was proposed and the family was allowed to send a representative during the check-up.
Naqvi said Imran Khan remained at the hospital for approximately one and a half hours for examination. A later request to shift him to the hospital for a week would be decided strictly on doctors’ recommendations.
He also claimed that misinformation was spread about Khan’s eyesight, including false reports suggesting total vision loss. According to Naqvi, doctors expressed satisfaction with the medical facilities being provided.
The minister added that the government is open to dialogue on national issues but ruled out any discussion related to an NRO or personal concessions.
