LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has informed the accountability court in Lahore that Punjab Chief Minister and former Prime Minister were not found involved in corruption during the investigation into the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case.

The development emerged during proceedings at the accountability court, where NAB Lahore requested formal approval to close the inquiry. The court, presided over by Judge , issued notices to all concerned parties and adjourned the hearing until March 3.

During the proceedings NAB officials emphasized that neither Maryam Nawaz nor Nawaz Sharif was found guilty of any wrongdoing in the bureau’s investigation. The bureau highlighted that the request to close the probe follows directives issued by the Lahore High Court on February 4.

According to NAB final approval from the accountability court is now being sought to officially conclude the investigation into the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case. The announcement marks a significant development in the high profile case drawing attention from political circles and media outlets.
