Senior judicial and administrative officials attend oath-taking ceremony at Supreme Court Building
MUZAFFARABAD: Justice (R) Ghulam Mustafa Mughal was formally sworn in as the Chief Election Commissioner of Azad Jammu and Kashmir during a dignified ceremony held at the Supreme Court Building in Muzaffarabad.
The oath was administered by Chief Justice Raja Saeed Akram Khan in the presence of senior judicial, administrative and legal officials. Among those attending the ceremony were Election Commission Member Syed Nazir-ul-Hasan Gilani, Inspector General of Police Captain (R) Liaqat Ali, secretaries of various government departments, district judiciary officers and a large number of lawyers.
At the outset, Amjad Ali Minhas, draftsman of the Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, read out the official notification regarding Mughal’s appointment before the formal oath-taking proceedings were completed.
Following the ceremony, Justice (R) Mughal assumed his official responsibilities. Officials expressed confidence that under his leadership, the Election Commission would further strengthen measures to ensure transparent, fair and impartial electoral processes across the region.
